Back in January, I posted here before I even had a product. Now I do. My protein powder is sourced across the US and is sitting in my apartment. The only thing standing between me and the start of marketing is product liability insurance.
I’ve gotten two quotes. One is $2,200/year from a company called Coast to Coast Insurance. It’s affordable and covers everything I need, but I can’t find any reviews, Reddit mentions, or real-world feedback on them. No online presence makes it feel a little sketchy.
The other is from Veracity (through the VUE program) and comes in around $2,800–$3,000/year. They’re well-known, recommended in the supplement space, and have a solid reputation — but obviously it costs more. They offer financing, but even that means I’d be paying about $90/month extra.
This is by far the biggest financial risk I’ve taken in trying to build a real business. I want to move forward, but I’m torn between playing it safe or saving money.
What would you do if you were in my shoes, or better put, how would you go about the decision-making process in my shoes?
