Done with full contributions to 401K, HSA etc.
How to invest nicely 100K without too much time to spend? Is it good time to get into index funds?
Any ideas on buying a business where to find it instead of throwing it into index funds?

Appreciate ideas!!
Thanks!

You still need to do homework if you want to invest in individual stocks. And you need a strategy. If you want a hassle-free investment and still individual stocks, look at dividend aristocrats. Pick 10 of them, and invest in them. Check their valuations too before you throw money at them, as in today's market many of them are overvalued (you can subscribe to FastGraphs to check valuations if you want, it is only $15 a month). If you decide to go for the stocks, I would still span the buyings into several purchases rather than one lump sum purchase. The market is very high and it seems that we may see some correction soon, so keep some cash ready to be buying cheaper.

If you want greater returns, you can use options. You can buy options against the SPY index, but, buy 3 years long LEAPS (you can also be selling covered calls against those LEAPS). This can give you great leverage to the upside and limited risk to the downside (if you buy 100 shares of SPY, you will need (and risk) $36,500 in a cash account and 50% of it in a margin account, if you buy LEAPS, you will only need $4,000 to control the same amount of money, so instead of risking $36,500, you only risk $4,000 and you can still make $10,000+ in the next three years)

Here is a list of dividend aristocrats you can start looking at:
