How to get started on copywriting

Hey guys,

I want to learn how to get started on copywriting and was hoping you guys could point me to some helpful threads. Specifically, are there any free courses online? How did you get started on copywriting?

I'm sure there are some gold/notable threads answering this questions already. If not, I'll probably hit google and just learn from there. After reading Joe's thread I want to learn copywriting for a chance at writing for a niche I think I could be successful in.
