Hello beautiful people,

I am a 19 year old and I work part-time at my local gym.
I've read TMF & Unscripted this year. I've been learning a lot and building some good habits that will serve as my foundation to success. But I must admit, It's starting to feel like action-faking.
Now, I really want to start building a business (no, not because of a stupid new year's resolution), I genuinely want to provide value to the world in some form, preferably in an industry I have personal experience in because of my interests and hobby's.
Now my question is:
  • What are your tips for getting started?
  • What helped you to find a problem to solve?
  • In Unscripted , MJ talked about a thread that has ideas in it that need execution, where can I find those?

Start with what you know.

Look at what you do in the gym and see if anything can be improved. Systems, software, equipment, processes etc.

Make a list of what could be better and start poking ideas around in paper, then figure out what it would take to make it happen

Thanks for the reply & inspiration, I'll try writing down some problems daily and thinking about them in terms of solutions.

Don't overcomplicate everything, start as close to the end as possible. If you want to find real problems that real people have, then why not use the opportunity that your part-time job gives you: People that are working out in your gym. On your next shift, go up to the people you already know or try to start talking with new ones that you haven't yet had the chance to have a chat with and try to find out what problems they have recently been having, or maybe what problems their parents, kids, siblings, neighbors or friends have recently been having.

Even if you won't be able to find any problem on the first time, don't worry as everyone will now know that if they have a problem they want to talk about, they can go to you and talk about it.

Good idea, I will socialise more and try to focus on them and their problems. Thanks for the good inspiration!

1. Execute. You just have to push the ball. What is the current problem you are solving?
2. I found several problems using various methods: Domain Experience, Solution selling, or ethically stealing an idea and making it better to the consumer.
3. In the INSIDERS edition of TFLF.

1. Don't make up excuses not to take action.
2. Don't get caught up in gossip, rumors, mob mentality. Stand out from the group.
3. Focus on the goal instead of what other people are doing around you.
4. Don't allow obstacles, roadblocks, and delays get in the way. Push forward anyway.
5. Don't allow negative thoughts to get in the way or self-doubts.
6. Don't allow fears to get in the way, do it anyway.
7. Ignore naysayers.
8. Don't count on others to show up, find your own way to get things done.
9. Don't wait for others, just take actions every day.
