Fairly lengthy read that I came across recently. I found it valuable enough to post on here since most of us probably have iPhones.

I have implemented some of the tips mentioned in the article and have already noticed an improvement in productivity.

Cool! Useful for Android too, even though most of the tips are common sense. That's the way I use my phone anyway.

For Android I use the app 'Gray-Switch' to switch to black and white mode. I mapped this app to one of the physical buttons on the side of my phone, so I can switch back and forth when needed (some apps need colors to work). But 95% of the time my phone is in black and white mode. Looks great and it feels more calm and less distracting.
