How could Trump’s tariffs affect my business?

Me and my brother have been working on an idea for swim trunks.

We tested the idea and got several hundred dollars worth of preorders. So we decided to pursue the idea.

We got connected with a fashion designer in France and a manufacturer in China. And after several months of work we have managed to create an almost finished product that is ready to be sold.

Our business is not located in the US but we have preorders there.

The dilemma we have is whether we should keep working with this manufacturer in China considering Trump’s tariffs and the implications it might have on our business or perhaps move manufacturing elsewhere?

At the same time it also feels like we are “restarting from zero” if we choose a manufacturer somewhere else since we have spent months of work with them.

Either way I would love to hear your thoughts about this. And what you would do?

Maybe I am overthinking this?
