Hello! I tried to find a thread about this topic but I couldn't find it. Please remove this thread if there is one already on the forum, And send me the link :)

The problem is the following... I'm thinking of creating a gaming app for a specific niche but I want to know if people will be interested in this app. I'm only want to execute right now, so my idea is to start as soon as possible.

I was thinking on running some instagram and Facebook ads pointing to a landing page of the app. With this ads, I suppose that I will have a bit of information about the posible audience. Do you think that this approach is correct to test if people would like the app? What methods do you recommend?

Hi, I have two books to help you answer this question:
The right it+++ (found in this forum, can't remember who)
And the mom test
It's short reads that would help you tremendously with this question.
Good luck!

100%. Unfortunately, there is a huge difference between someone who likes something and someone who likes someting AND is willing to give you money for your product.

At the end of the day, the only way to get a hard proof is to get paid for your product. In the software area, most of the time people reach that kind of proof with an MVP. Doesn't need to be feature reach, but needs to solve a problem big enough in order to get paid for it. After that, you can improve on it based on the customer feedback. At least that's what I'm doing and many others are doing in the software/SaaS area. MJ describes the whole process in Unscripted . I'm not certain anymore but I think it is within Kinetic Execution, the 3As. And there are also a few pages about the soft/hard-proof topic. Definitely worth a (re)read.
