The cells in the donor heart are allowed to die, and then replaced with stem cells belonging to the recipient to better integrate the organ and reduce the rate of rejection. At least, that's the goal in the future..
Pretty cool eh? Not everyone is impressed though, plenty of side walkers left comments lol.
