So I decided i'm going to introduce myself as a step to make myself more invested in making it on the fastlane and escaping the rat race. The past few years i've been constantly trying to improve myself, whether through going to the gym, reading self-improvement, mindset or any other books, reading red pill forums/blogs and articles on game, meditating etc...

I'm 21 years old and enrolled in a large public university. I would never have gone except my loaded grandparents pay my full tuition and the field I am in I actually do enjoy and would get have a fulfilling career except that the pay is miniscule. I've almost listened to all of Millionaire Fastlane on audiobook in the span of a few days over spring break, and it really did hit home when MJ said something along the lines of doing what you love as a job has a good chance of making you not love it anymore. So before I knew about the rat race and that we're basically slaves, but my solution was to do something enjoyable and it wouldn't be THAT bad.

This book and forum has inspired me to make a change, I don't want to settle, I want to create value and have free time/financial independence. I've recently read Rich Dad Poor Dad, which was helpful, but MJ's book is on another level, from reading most of it I literally am not able to give myself a single excuse as to why I cannot make this happen.

In terms of where to go from here, i'm going to finish the few chapters I have left of the book, start reading through threads here on the forum, and I have an idea of starting a business that's one of those monthly subscription types where you get an assortment of items each month. Coincidentally, when I talked to one of my good friends who I hadn't talked to in a while the other day about this idea, he told me he started the same type of business and linked me the site. ( Home ) So anyways I was going to try to get as much knowledge from him on how to go about starting one of these things, but I really am unsure of how to progress from this idea and where to start/take action. I know next to nothing about website design or anything, so i'm assuming i'll need to spend at least a month solely on learning how to do that and then maybe try to look up resources on how to market etc..

I don't want to procrastinate on this like I usually do with things out of habit, and I know action is the most important, so yeah I basically just posted this to hold me responsible for actually getting started and following through. Thanks

Great intro Ben, welcome to the forum!

MJ said something along the lines of doing what you love as a job has a good chance of making you not love it anymore.

Yup, not an opinion but scientifically proven. Called the over-justification effect.
