Hello Everyone,

I am glad to join this forum after reading Fastlane and I am halfway through Unscripted .
These books have detailed a path to independence I never knew possible.

And I plan to pursue. I am, what I consider, a newly successful slow laner. I followed all the right steps that I was taught. I earned a good education through the military that led to a successful technical career. I pursued every advancement I could get my hands on. And I ended up with a great career, in a booming market, making good money and if I invested correctly, while being frugal, I could have sit back and waited.

Except, the moment that I realized that I just had to wait 15 years to be financial independent with a very frugal salary to live off, I panicked and realized it wasn't for me.

A couple conversations with some co-wrokers later and I was advised to read the FastLane.

@MJ DeMarco Thank you for finishing the grueling process of writing those books that have added value to my life. It has opened my eyes to a path that has not been show before.

I have a mountain of questions and a lot of reading to do. But I have never been more excited.

I'm lucky he mentioned it. He wants to be an entrepreneur, but is currently in the employment trap. I've never known an actual entrepreneur. I have never seen this path taken. I've only seen the aspiring fakers and it caused me to avoid it.

I'm from a family of sidewalkers. I just taught my father who is 4 years from retirement how to work a 401k, mutual funds, etc.... you know the compound interest calculators. Hes gone from spending everything, to saving half his income before he gets older.

Seems you have to learn the path from sidewalk->slow lane->fast lane? Or at least it progressed that way for me.

I only wish I had learned sooner.
