Hello everyone !

I read and follow the forum since a few months now, and I thought it's now time to introduce myself and be more active.

My name is Natacha, I'm 29, and I'm from France (north-east). I currently work as a speech and language pathologist (I have my own office). I also completed a training course as "Chief practitioner in Ericksonian Hypnosis" a few weeks ago. That's for the background. By the way, sorry for my poor english. I'm training and practising every day but I know I could do way better.

I read since several years a lot of personal development books, and am followed by a psychologist, because since I was a student, I don't feel well in my job. I don't have the "passion", I'm not cut out for this job, and in France, there are every day more and more taxes to pay, less and less money left for us. And also less and less involvement from patients, a lot of daily disrespect too. And, yesterday, I came to the building where I work with other health professionals, and I saw a bullet hole in one of the waiting room's windows. I don't know if it's my real "F*ck this event", but since I work, I'm telling myself I won't do this my whole life (and actually, not more than ten years before I would completely lose my mind), and this bullet hole in the window achieved to make me completely disgusted of this way of working.

I still want to help people (that’s why I chose this job at first, to help people), but I would like to do it my way, and not the way the government forces us to do.

Searching and browsing through french speech-therapists Facebook groups gave me some ideas of what I could do to help SLPs fulfill some needs. I try to stay at first in my “field” (speech and language pathologist), because that’s where I’m the most self-confident for the moment. I’m not a great salesperson, a great copywriter or a great I-don’t-know-what-else, and I will improve it for sure but for now, I think I already can make something nice within my competence field.

As summer comes, several patients take a break so I will have more time to develop my first idea, for which I will need to improve my sales and webdesign competences. I’m currently considering taking some udemy courses, but at first I would like to develop my idea. I need some execution crash-tests before the product will be usable. So, I will first work to make a usable (and sellable) version of the product, then I will send it for tests to “known” french speaking speech therapists who often test SLP products on youtube and facebook, and at the same time I will create a sales website.

That’s my “plan A” for now.

I just want to say a huge Thank You to MJ DeMarco for his two great books, I read them in english and I often re-read the pages I need, to be sure I go in the right way, with CENTS etc. For now, my product won’t have a huge scaling since it will be shaped for SLPs only, but I will work for a greater scale if the first version really helps people.

I’m glad to be part of such an interesting forum, truly a gold mine for those who don’t fear to go for it !

Have a nice day :)

If there are fellow Frenchies, I would be glad to hear from you ^^

Hi Sindelya,

I'm new too in the forum, you said " poor english" wow you put the level very high in yourself... What I should say about mine so??

Je suis français aussi, établi à côté de Montpellier depuis presque 2 ans.

I will continue with my poor english ( yes mine is poor ;-) ) perhaps to be understood by others members. Hmmm I never read any personal development books at all... Just read half of the fastlane ( since 2 days) and I can say "merde, what I'm still doing in this sidewalk?". Honestly and humbly I recognize myself in the MJ's parcours, almost everything he experimented and lived feels something I did also ( and even more i could trully say ) ... But, I'm not on the fastlane, that's sure...

So there is something I did wrong or even I never did.

I have right now 2 clues to start the job, I'm 57 and it's really time... First I'm sure to have all the clues somewhere hidden in my mind, yes hidden to not face off , to not have to challenge myself maybe by laziness or fear about myself ?

Second, you said something right about to help people, I think I spent most of my years to help people, to wait people, to be on their level to not feel higher , maybe you think I'm pretentious? but no I'm not, just a fact, mostly I'm acting with a long term vue, I never follow the sheep, always analyze the consequence of each of my acts and decisions, blablabla ... But any time I gave up and came back to the easiest way, its tiring and hard to assume to be alone in your world of thinking...

So now I'm 57 as I said and still adjusting myself ( means lowering myself...) to the community around me ( at work, my customers for my extra jobs...) and you know what, in about 6 years I will be retired with a full brain of heavy experiences, who potentially could bring me in the fastlane, and a 1000€ monthly allowance...

What a waste!!

But I assume, i'm on the the place I decided to be, because I adjusted to the people all my life... So what I wanted to say is we should start to help us first to help the others after...

Allez j'ai du travail maintenant ;-)

See you !

Fred

Une citation de monsieur X.Niel: “la France est un paradis fiscal pour créateur d’entreprise”

the best joke in years indeed.

France is not the right place at all for entrepreneurs. France is a socialist country when looking at taxes and the laws

Hello everyone ! Thanks for your replies :)
I'm not really sure that France is the heaven for entrepreneurs. For already over-rich entrepreneurs maybe. For the others... taxes and charges often kill the company before it even has the time to progress.

@psv1601, thank you for your answer. Mes parents habitent aussi près de Montpellier !
I think you're right when you say you have to help yourself before being able to help other people. I'm experiencing it right now, living my third professional burn-out. I also know I won't have the chance to "be retired", because the entire retirement system is falling down in France, and when my retirement time will come, it will only be a sweet memory. So I plan to leave France in a few years. But I would like to be on the fastlane road by then.
You sure have all the resources in yourself to start your fastlane projects, it's never too late to begin. And, like my mother would say, "la peur n'évite pas le danger" (fear doesn't avoid danger). At least you still have your job as a back-up plan to pay the bills. Please keep us informed of your progress !
