i'm anin, i've posted before, i have a horror epublishing company (which i still love) and am in the midst of lauching a new company.
i have a lustful passion for hair - specifically helping hair grow and have been 'field' studying hair on my own for over 25yrs. i am a hair consultant (my speciality is relaxed hair) and i just recently became a trichology student also. i have been making and using my own hair growth products since 2004 but believe it or not, it never dawned on me to sell them...because they were mine *laughs*
normally, i don't post my pixs on the interent but for the sake of this post i will.
the left is me when my hair was short and i decided to start experimenting on my hair.
the right is my hair length currently.
over the past 7 years, i have cut my hair 3 different times up to my earlobes just to see if my products really does work or if it was just a fluke. it always grew back.
As a Black woman, i get a lot of compliments and even pulled aside to ask how i got my hair so long or my favorite-if it is real. women have pulled off their wigs in public bathrooms to show me thinning and balding hair and even men have complained to me about spot in their beards. i still didn't think to sell.
early last month, i moved back to my home state and went with my son to my old job to visit. one of the women there asked me if i was still making my products, i said yes and she ordered some from me. before my visit was over, i had 5 more orders. when my son and i left the building, he looked at me and said..."Ma, come on, what more do you need?" couldn't argue with that.
at the end of next week, i will be launching Hairbrosia Hair Solutions. i have a website which i am putting the final touches on (w/logo and business cards), ein number, have just submitted for a LLC, and so far have orders from over 30 people (friends, associates, family <--- yup, they gotta pay also *laughs*) because word-of-mouth is my friend.
it is my goal/aspiration to be a cross between avon and get my products into stores. i have plans to extend this business into other hair-related outlets also after i see how this goes. i will be getting together a business plan soon and soon will be hitting flea markets to sell my wares and reach more potential customers.
i am both excited and nervous and extremely happy because hair is my passion.
to all those on here that have ideas, i say just go. if you fall, pick yourself up, dust off your knees, stictch up any holes and go again.
