Situation:
The company I worked for was a start up. Atleast, their head office is in the US and they where building their second business in my country. Just a week ago I got fired. The results of our team are not there. I am the first one to go. They hired me knowing I don't have any sales experience and this was a hardcore sales job. I failed to live up to the expectations of the company.
No harm done. I will survive.
Here is the interesting part of this story.
Last week I got contacted by a company that does the same thing. This company is well established, they have a good training program in place. I told them about my lack of sales experience and they are okay with that.
So, how would you go about this? Would you say "yes" and "try again"? Would you say "no" because if you fail you have another short job on your resume?
What would your thought process be?
To be honest, it sounds like an opportunity to try again and I am leaning towards yes. If I fail, I can always search for something entirely different. The guy that is recruiting me has 20 years of experience in the field. They must see something in my resume that makes them call me. On the other hand, I got headhunted by my previous job too.
Two different type of companies, two different type of job responsibilities but ofcourse still the same type of business.
Thank you for your time.
