Hi, I've been working as a software developer for over six years. I'm from Poland. Generally I'm fullstack dev which means I know backend and frontend (mobile&web) technologies so as a result I'm able to create probably most of applications. I have also basic knowledge in devops (docker, aws). Currently I'm working for two customers (7-9h working hours per day) and my year clean income (without taxes) is about 420k PLN which is equal to 90k USD.
It is a lot if I compare that with other people's earnings in Poland.
But ...
At some moment, a few months ago I stopped to be happy. Why? Because I feel I reach the peak of earnings in this model (working for others). Of course, I could find other customers and earn let's say 110k but it isn't my goal.
Every day when I finish my work day I feel that I did nothing all day. I feel that I develop NOTHING. Nothing which could give me money in the future and which is scalable. I feel a bit depressed. I do not have even motivation to learn new things regarding programming, because 10,20,30k extra USD per year change nothing.
I'd like .. I want to earn 100,200,500,1000k USD per year but from scalable business and passive incomes ! I'm really good programmer. I have nice soft skills and good contact with other people. I want to feel that every day I develop something which is mine.
Of course, I was trying to create some apps but nothing got successful. Most likely because those were just my ideas. Now I know that firstly I have to find real problems around real people.
I admit, now I feel a bit lost. I don't know which direction should I take? Do you know what I'd love to do most? Some mobile app. I just have the desire to do that ;p Coding is my big passion.
Every day I think a lot about potential ways to do business:
1. Creating a blog about coding, but there is a lot of them on the internet. With some audience I could write e-books about for instance "How to become a software dev" or do some others courses.
2. Creating simple 2d games for mobile phones in Unity - but the market is saturated.
3. Looking for people's problems in forums and facebook groups and finally create apps or Saas'es resolving their problems.
Third option seems to be the best, but I don't really know how to looking for these problems. That sounds easy.. should I just register in random facebook groups and look for problems every day?
I think I need an eye opening.
