AYO!
My name is Nvikelo (Va-Kay-Low). I've always been interested in making things. I would make up songs from random things my classmates said in elementary school. In middle school, I found Game development teachers on youtube and got absolutely obsessed with game development. I would start many projects only to end up putting them in my project graveyard. In high I took an art class and loved it, I got a job over the summer at an art museum and spent my days learning how to draw faces. In the summer after my second year of high school, I turned my interest in writing lyrics and singing random songs into a dedicated effort to produce my own music!
After that summer of music production learning, I went back to university. I was never good at school and would fall asleep in class a lot and struggled to stay positive as each semester passed. Then "the big C" happened, I went back home and never returned to University. I spent the next 2 years after that working crappy jobs, making music, smoking weed, and wishing I wasn't myself. All through this time, I would go through phases of feeling better, listening to self-help content, and falling back into bad habits. Near the end of 2021, I started to learn about the healing properties of certain mushrooms. I consumed content and read testimonials about it until I found myself holding it, about to take the plunge. Not saying anyone should go for something like this, just stating things as they went. The journey I went on while on it started off good then after a bit I found myself stuck in a recursive loop, it took a bit for me to notice and want to snap out of it. I had a candle lit and I went up to it to see if it was really lit (one of the things I kept repeating was blowing out the candle) I put my face right up to the flame and got a little burn on my nose. That pain snapped me out of the loop, I blew out the candle for real and lay in my bed, the trip from then on was just ocean waves of intensity passing over me. A bit later the trip was calming down, it was coming to an end, I got up and went to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and told myself that I'm glad to be alive. Again I'm not saying anyone should do this, you may come out of it with mental issues!!! I was just at a low enough place that I would've tried anything.
3 Months passed, and a bit more self-help content later, I followed some of the advice I was hearing and went to the gym. Best decision of my life! I was starting to be able to hold off bad habits and form good ones, I started seeing myself better and gained more confidence! They always say the tortured artist makes their best work but I found I was making better music when my outlook on life was a lot more positive! Over this past summer, I started seeing Tate's content on youtube shorts. I passed through what I was hearing and took away the message: A man must empower himself, and build himself into an indomitable force. I got the recommendation to read The Millionaire Fastlane from Luke Balmer, a millionaire who collaborated with Tate in a video. Here I am now!
Haven't really done much when it comes to business. What I have done is a bit of freelance work. I want to be a successful music artist but that requires money as more than 50% of a music artist's job is marketing. I am here to learn first and foremost but as time goes on I hope to be someone who can help others as well!
