Hello. My name's Melvin
I'm a freelance copywriter and for the longest time I was bending over backwards to regularly pitch and keep clients. Some of whom didn't really value me or my dedication to getting them high quality content. I always had the feeling that I could be replaced since writing well today isn't that unique of a skill.
Then I realized that I was ignoring crucial parts of myself that could be beneficial to my fulfillment in life. I didn't like competing in a place where everyone is the same or win an opportunity based on a technicality.
I want the thrill of achieving something great even though it comes with the risk of great loss. The greater loss, I believe, is letting my clients steer my ship to whichever destination they want, making me feel like hostage on my own vessel.
Long story short, I stumbled on Unscripted and realized that I can actually build a sensible business using the CENTS framework. I reflect on it each morning and I'm rereading the book to ensure I didn't miss any helpful details. Fastlane is next on my list.
I'm now working on building my business merging my artistic prowess with my copywriting. I will create a productocracy and live the unscripted lifestyle. What more could a 25 year old want.
