My advice: ask Chatgpt, or Grok, to tell you the news and from which website. Grok works really well, you can read a neutral summary of the news, and you can ask it to expand if you want.
The benefit of this method is that you become much less emotionally affected by the news, and at the same time you're not missing out.
I went to "Dictatorship China" last year and the media is not divisive, there are no talks about LGBT or feminism, or other irrelevant issues, and people are happy. There is no left wing or right wing. They also censor all coverage of any protest, pro-democracy stances, news about accidents and homicides, and they even banned effemminate male influencers from appearing on TV.
The common belief is that China is evil for controlling the media, but they're just trying to stop international enemies from buying their media and pushing anti-China propaganda, this also why they blocked western social media.
Now that I came back, I realize how disgusting our media is (not that I didn't know before), and it's so obvious to me that they just make everyone hate each other, anxious, depressed, angry, spiteful on purpose. They surely know how you will feel when you consume the news, so if we're all angry and divided, it was on purpose, and if you trust the western media you will fall for it.
Always be skeptical, most of the "news" has a spin to it. Today's media landscape is complete garbage.
