Honestly, there's upside and downside to all locations.
I'm Canadian and while we're pretty well developed and into ecommerce as a population we're still a very small population (about twice as many as Istanbul but still 10x less than the USA!). It would be nice to be in the USA but at the same time there's less competition up here for everything.
Also - there's the option to operate globally from any location on earth these days.
If you have an idea for a physical product you could import it into the USA, store it at a USA warehouse, and deliver it to USA customers, all while you live in Istanbul. I do this from Canada and fully service USA customers. I realize Canada is very close to the USA but in terms of how this "works" it wouldn't matter if I was anywhere on the planet, as long as I had internet access.
Something to consider that often gets overlooked as well is local opportunities. If you can help enough people around you, you can be pretty successful. What are the big-wigs in your country doing? Do you have any products in Istanbul that are cool/unique/valuable but aren't already in the USA (or the reverse) that you could export/import?
