I've been thinking about how 'chicken and egg' problems are solved in general.

I've researched about this and most of the time the answer is 'fake it till you make it' in case of dating sites for example, creating fake profiles until the real profiles overcome the fake profiles in number and the site takes off.. but this 'solution doesn't seem to apply to my situation.

I've read James Martell 'PAD technique' for backlinks.

It's a bit like guest-posting... with a twist... what he calls 'bridging'

For example: Let's say I have a website about loans. I can 'bridge' the loan theme, to the house remodeling theme, because I can write an article about house remodeling and mention that you could get a loan to help you out on your remodel project... making the loan article relevant to the house remodeling website.

Now, I want to outsource this process: The writing, and the guest post partner finding

My Chicken and egg problem is that, in order to find a guest post partner, I must have the article ready, so they can appreciate the article and see if they would like to have it on their website or not...

BUT...

to have the article ready, I have to know the 'bridging' angle... what the theme would be like... and to have that I need to know who my guest post partner is first... in order to fit the article to his website theme

so how can I overcome this problem?

I've never done guest posting, but I'd say your way over thinking it. You don't have to have the article ready, just contact the users who you want to guest post, you don't need the article ready. If they say okay let me see the article then write one and tell them its still a draft and show them an example of another article you want it to turn out like, or show them an article you did for another website.

If you want I have a weight loss site, you can't bridge that to loans, but I would love if someone else wrote content for me, my question is how do I find someone to guest post? I actually moderate a local real estate blog also, I guess I'm to small time to get guest posters.

hey Jam!

Glad to see you

Well, I want to outsource the whole process. Finding partners and Writing the articles.

My question is if someone with a blog is willing to wait 4 or 5 days for an article...

I think it's better to say:

Hey, I have this brilliant article written on house remodeling, its perfect for your site, check it out. What do you think? Do you want it?

Than...

Hey I think I could write a great article on house remodeling in 5 days. Would you take it if i wrote it for you?

But to do the first, you have to have the articles ready... and to have the articles ready... you have to know who's your partner that is going to accept them, so you can fit the articles to the theme of their blog

chicken and egg...

Your overthinking this way too much my man, heres what you do:

1. you look for a site you would like to guest post in
2. Go through the whole site and feel out the theme
3. Write the article and tell them a specific part they would enjoy in it

Done and done

Thanks The-Truth!

That strategy would work if I was doing it myself.

But, remember that I'm outsourcing the whole process...

What if do 1. 2. 3. and they don't accept the article and there isn't another blog similar to that one to accept the same article?

I would be throwing a lot of articles in the garbage before I found one that would accept me.

I've read the rate of acceptance is about 10%. Which means I would be wasting 9 articles for each article approved, at a $20 a pop (I want them to be good quality) it's a lot of money down the drain.

There must be better way to do this

ok well why dont you find 10 sites you like and reach out to them ( perhaps compliment them on an article etc) this way your not wasting any money and you can get in some networking

also you could just write an article yourself and try with one site as a test ... even if they reject it you still have a killer article you can use

Hi! I've written about 500+ articles this year and published about 20 on my own sites. In the writing, people have many requests, some want it to be centered around a topic, keyword or a specific niche. Then they approach site owners, like myself and have a proposition to either publish it as guest post or as a paid post. The topic is all information I get. Like "can you publish an article about creditcard and travelling on your site? You can then publish anything you want on my site or I will pay you $60 (to $100) for the article". Most of the time its a good deal, because I get revenue on the site, and sometimes I get to write the article, which dont confuse my visitors, since they are familiar with my writing, I get an additional $20 for that. So just comment on blogs, get their email and send them a request for your proposal, like others in the thread have pointed out. :) Good luck! Sincerely Stam

Stam,

Do you think if I said something like:

"hey, I've been reading your blog for a while. I can write an article with some nice tips on 'travel' that your readers would love. Would you publish it?

would work?

Try it! :)

If its a blog, they are used to casual emails, if its more a big corp, you could be more formal. But the best thing is to try, see if you get a response. And as with all email and comments, try to use a catchy heading to grab attention. Bloggers want more content, and guestposting is very normal.

Stop thinking, and do! :) My best advice. Then ask for other bloggers they may know of that you could do the same with, I built my writing business this way, got from 1 order in december to $1k i january and $2k in februar just through referrals.
