Cheers Fastlaners,
Thrilled to be part of this community.
I found my way here via The Millionaire Fastlane , which had an immediate impact on me (not unlike a boot in the a$$).
I’ve been an entrepreneur for most of my life. My first venture was serving as a trumpet tutor in middle school.
When I was in my very early twenties, I read one of Bob Bly’s books on freelance copywriting. In the back of that book, he listed his phone number.
I called him, introduced myself and thanked him for his insights.
I also asked him for advice for a newbie freelancer. He was gracious to take my call and answer my questions.
A few days later, I received a call from the editor of a bestselling guidebook. Mr. Bly had given her my name.
That call led to an annual writing gig that lasted three years.
When my editor retired, I was asked to replace her.
That freelance editing gig lasted 17 years.
In the meantime, I also became a freelance web designer.
Through the contacts I made in that role, I eventually moved into independent consulting, opening my own LLC and helping executives and business leaders solve business development and marketing problems. I focused primarily on tech-heavy companies.
Now, in my 40s, I have a well-paying, low-stress job with a global consulting firm. But the entrepreneurial fire is still burning strong.
My goal is to focus on solving problems while applying the Fastlane framework (I’m tired of trading my time for $).
I want to leave the corporate world behind and have full control of my financial future.
I’m really looking forward to learning from all of you here and looking forward to contributing as well.
Cheers to our collective successes in 2018!
