Business idea evaluation - Proof (soft) - best way to interview target groups

Hello all,

It's my first post here and I'm excited to be a part of the community.

I'm trying to evaluate my business idea - soft proof - and I tried subscribing to a few forums to gain access to the target groups.
Unfortunately every forum/group/subreddit I'm trying to join they do not allow posting market research etc.

What's your advise the best approach is.
Ideally free of charge and online based. I know the book recommends joining professional events and interviewing people there, but I think in our day and age of online activity, it can be done without leaving home?

What are your workflows for that?
