Some rough figures not accounting too much for my different currency.

$20 profit per hour on service biz staff member (commercial office cleaning, 27% profit margin), 136 billable hours per day, 952 hours per week for 1 mil per year. Around 30 staff with a mix of people doing 15 hours and some closer to 30 with a small handful of full timers as supervisors/area managers.

With small gigs, average recurring client at one 4 hour gig per week, that's 256 clients needed.

With average client at 20 man hours per week (every biz day mon to Fri, 4 hours each evening) that's only 48 clients. Say 55 with slightly lower margins on the bigger jobs.
I'm trying to move to the bigger jobs where no travel between is involved that I have to pay staff for.

I know the whole "excel rich" thing but my coach had done just this in less than 2.5 years when she launched her own after being a manager for someone else.
