I found an article just going over a few very easy exploits to abuse for those who are developing their own websites. It's more of a primer to make you aware of these, but nonetheless good to at least know about:

Web Security: Are You Part Of The Problem? - Smashing Magazine

Some things on there are very easy to avoid, and can pretty much be summed up into "Don't trust anything the user inputs and is sent to the server". ALWAYS, ALWAYS, check what is sent, or you'll be compromised, and it's only a matter of when.

Side note: If you want some hands on experience with this stuff try out www.hackthissite.org - If you know even a bit of web dev a lot of the missions are easy.
