But after tax, being passed over for promotions, being fired several times, failing to placate psychopathic bosses, and working in sterile office blocks, I was faced with the reality that this path would never make me happy or give me freedom.
I left the corporate world after seven years and joined a start-up that gave me equity.
We exited a few years ago, and I made more money in two years than I had in the rest of my career.
Now back in the corporate world, making mid six figures a year, but this still isn’t enough to retire anytime soon.
