The reason I am posting this is that this episode showcased exactly how many of us think vs. others. For those who don't know The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom on CBS.
So yesterday's episode, Penny started a home business making floral barrettes. Penny is selling them at work and her local salon. Penny said that she could make 20 a day and make $.50 profit on each one.
So in come the "geeks" inquiring about her home business. Sheldon quickly calculates that that is $10/day X 5 days a week X 52 weeks a year = $2,600/yr.
So the "geeks" quickly jump in with new ideas:
Create an assembly line so she can make more per day
Use a better glue that bonds better
Create an ecommerce website to sell instead of the salon
Add bluetooth to the hair barrette
Of course, they create a website and they get an order for 1,000 pcs and it's ordered on a 1 day turn so they have to make 1,000 of them that night.

BTW, this show is very current with the online times. It's interesting to see what online sites they mention on the show. For example, they mentioned reading something on twitter last year.
