I wanna follow what Mj said about ideas and execution. I have a idea for a website that could be made a app and I know how it would work, but I have no skills in design and would be perfectly ok with hiring a designer.

to be honest I wanted to get it via word of mouth, websites like fivver and upwork can be kinda shady sometimes, I believe I saw a video on it. Rather than scroll through 100 different ui designers I would much rather learn of one through someone on the fastlane, even if it takes more time I think the tradeoff is better. Plus I already got 1 reply, but thanks for the advice anyways.

I know you don't have the coding skill but I recommend you learn to use something like Figma so you have a prototype working

you can use no code tools for app mvps. flutterflow is my fav

If you've never hired a developer or designer before, I encourage you to stick to Fiverr/Upwork. While both platforms are somewhat sus, both platforms do come with some form of protection.

Comparatively, hiring someone on your own means you'll more than likely get a crappy developer who won't produce anything, and then you'll be SOL when you didn't create a contract, or the wording on your contract is incorrect. This is especially true upon realizing for every 1 good developer there are 150 terrible ones.
