I've noticed something interesting recently about tying the right name to a venture. About a year ago a restaurant opened up a few blocks from my home. Each time I drove by during the dinner hour the parking lot was a ghost town and I thought to myself that they are bleeding a lot of red ink and won't last long. Recently there was a small article in the newspaper about the restaurant hiring the retired former owner of a very popular restaurant in town as head chef. Now every night the parking lot is packed.

If you don't currently have a recognized name in an industry there can be a significant advantage to paying someone who does.
