A New VCR

I talked to my Mom on the weekend
and she said she needed a new VCR for Christmas
(one of those subtle Mom hints).

Why?

Because she'd set it to tape her favorite shows
and then it would 'switch' to a business channel.
Maybe I would like it because I like watching the business channel.

I asked her if it had something to do
with the financial world falling apart,
bank closings,
and the fear of heading into a possible Great Depression?

Hhhmmm... she thought about it for a moment.... maybe that was it.
(Not concerned at all, because, well, she knows I'll take care of her)
She'll test it out again this week
and let me know.

So I've been watching the TSX plunge 1,000 points today
and laughing a bit.
I'm going to get another request for a new VCR this upcoming weekend.
My dear sweet Mom, I love her to bits.
