25 years old, recently graduated, ready to enter the FastLane

Hi everyone,

So as to introduce myself, let me tell you my brief story towards my decision to pursue the FastLane life.

In May 2019 I graduated from university as a Mechanical Engineer. I've always loved how power is transformed in movement, in action, in life. I wanted a challenge and took my desired major.
In the late years of my studies, I undertook an internship in Ford. Everything changed for me. I realized that the daily work routine was driving me mad. I lacked a spiritual growth, I lacked happiness in life. So I rejected to work anymore in any corporation. Now, I can list three main factors for which I reject a classic job:

1. See the same people every day. Talk about the same empty topics every day.
2. Having to obey a boss who today is more known as a "leader". I've never had the option to choose who to follow. I have no problem following someone who is better than me because it is the way I learn from someone much more experienced, much more intelligent. But I feel uncomfortable being forced to follow a person I don't believe in.
3. The payment. Classic jobs will not make me a millionaire. I have seen men and women younger than I am driving supercars, attending large social events and befriending people of high status. I want to be one of them. And a classic job will not give me the lifestyle I crave.

Don't get me wrong. I value people who strive to put food on the table, to feed a family. And I know that within corporate life there are entrepreneurial people who stand out and achieve great lifestyles. But it is not my way.

By looking for answers, I found MJ DeMarco's books among some others and I decided to change the way I'm conducting myself in life. My ambition is to have spiritual, familiar and economic abundance.

I currently live with my savings. This month I'm leaving my parents' house. So, my time starts running before I lost all my savings. If I fail, I will be pushed to ask my parents for financial help and I surely will not feel good doing that.

As for my projects, I started to develop a video game (I have skills in C#, Python and I always liked to draw and create 3D art) that began to give me a merely symbolic amount of money. If all goes well, that game will make me 5-8k per month.
On the other hand, I'm interested in the import market. By browsing the Forum I found that Walter Hay sells some books on the subject. I will give them a look.
Finally, I am self studying marketing because I realized that everything in life is sales and behind sales there is marketing.

So, there it is. My brief summary towards my FastLane dream.

I've detected a market for video games promoted on Patreon.
I will not hide it, I'm making an erotic video game.

I started this project as an experiment. So I coded a simple and ugly PoC and uploaded it. I didn't expect to have so many views/downloads of the game in my first try. Obviously, it was a bad product, but there is a lot of market there. Just a handful of people believed in my project and started donating me for the video game development.

Now I've been improving the video game with better aesthetics, better playable mechanics.

I haven't had a strong increase in the number of donors because I don't know how to promote my project. That is why I began with marketing studies and social media.

In matters of development and for my project, I'm inclined to explore the second thought because storytelling is a skill I want to learn. I want the public to be engaged with a compelling story. In matters of genre, I've always loved how RPG games present evolving and interactable stories to the players (I'm developing a RPG). In matters of mechanics I want to develop an immersive game fun to play. I would say that erotic scenes are a bonus, but not for that irrelevant in the development of the story. Just like real life but with a slightly touch of fantasies.

I'm aware of games that present sex for the sake of showing sex. And developers more inclined to this idea are also developing VR experiences. And those people are also making lots of money.

There is a public for everything. However, it is important to remark that moral standards about what kind of topics are evoked around sex cannot be ignored.

As a final thought, the idea that virtual experiences are replacing real human interactions bothers me.
As reading a novel, as watching a movie, as playing a video game I just want to create a fleeting product in the life of a person. However, a product that could be well remembered as a good work, as art.

I've been following this onlyfans/virtual relationships trend out of personal interest, find it really interesting, as it's a barometer of societal change - although I don't think I'll deviate from my current e-comm business anytime soon. Did you hear about the "virtual" AI cam-girl, think it was called Project Melody - I was browsing its twitter feed and "she" is getting great engagement from what I'd assume is guys in the anime crowd. Totally agree. I’m struggling with community development, though.
I’ve never tried to rise a social profile with enthusiasm because I prefer to enjoy my present rather than to be sticked in my phone. Same thing with video games. I enjoyed them, yes, but now I cannot play them more than 30 min before getting bored.

Understanding virtual communities is a struggle for me. Now, Gen Z is coming with new ideas and consumption habits. Fortunately for us, they’re bringing new opportunities, new markets.
