I am so happy I found this place. I ran across someone's sig over in the RD forums about 2 weeks ago and I've been avidly reading this forum since. What finally got me to join though was a combination of the "$3000 to Millions in 15 month" thread and the "How to Develop your PLAN" thread. My GOD!!!! There's power in those exercises.
The first one inspired me to go buy a domain and start developing a website. The second one started me down the path of getting my mind wrapped around what I need to change in my life to become financially free.
So a little about me...I'm a computer consultant. If you know what the terms Oracle, PL/SQL, or DBA mean you'd probably have a good inkling of what I do. I usually have a hard time explaining what I do to non-techies. This profession has been pretty good to me as I'm easily clearing a 6 figure salary, plus my wife's pretty close to 6 figures herself. We just recently bought a new(old 1955) house in So Cal and rented out our old condo instead of selling...made me realize how slow real estate can be to get financially free. This was what prompted me to go back to the RD forums, to see if there was anyone there that could suggest some way to speed up my life without leverging too far out of my comfort zone...then I came here and ran across a few thinking exercises that opened my eyes to other things I could be doing to increase my wealth. Real Estate may be a good vehicle for some people, but I now realize it's not mine.
Now that I'm here, I plan on making use of the knowledge and tidbits that everyone's been sharing. I look forward to when I can add my success story.
