I looked back on what helped me change my mindset back when I was broke, and here's 2 things I did.
1- Even when you are making low money, spend only 20% of what you're making. Do this even if it means moving in with your mom! When I transitioned over from making enough to eat to getting rich, I was paying $400 in rent, and maybe another $600 in bills etc. I was making 5K a month in LA (expensive town).
The psychological effect it has on you can be powerful. All money worries go away, allowing you to focus. You quickly have 6 months reserves in the bank, which makes you feel rich and powerful. You will quickly shed the "hourly employee" mindset and look for ways to make passive income, because you're living paycheck to paycheck.
2- Put $1500 in your wallet and carry it around at all times. This will remind you that you are not broke. Your fears about losing money will go away. Are you saying "BUT IM SCARED I WILL LOSE IT OR GET ROBBED!" It's ok if you do lose it, you will make more later. That's the new mindset you need to adopt.
Changes in mindset do not come from reading books, forums, or thinking about stuff. Changes in mindset come from new behaviors and real world events. Reading is simply a stepping stone to getting to those changes in behavior and real world events.
