I look at the clock and see it's turning past 5am.

Getting ready for a long day ahead I check the clock again and it's bright almost 9 and 15 degrees.

And then I think ah. the height of winter..

I Actually can't go back to a life of dark until 9am, less than 5 all day and rain. Here in Western Australia, the winters are a nice repreive from the 40 degree days, in the UK the summer was a nice repreive from the miserable weather

Tomorrow is the winter solstice which marks it all turning around for the brighter but it makes me instantly happier knowing that even on the coldest shortest day - it still isn't bad in the west.
