Conforming to current trends, I just had a business idea: bakery as a service.

Create a giant bakery that people can rent to come and make their own bread. If they want to start a bakery at low cost, all they will need is a shop or a website to sell the bread. No need to buy any equipment, we'll provide it. They can buy their own ingredients to make the bread, but i can also sell them to them.

That, and we'll organize bread and pastries workshops too. And then a restaurant. A jazz band will come play on Sunday night. So for that, we'll need our own beer, and an obvious micro-brewery. Then on top of the beer, we'll make beer workshops. Hippies will come, so we'll also create an art gallery. And a painting workshop.

This actually seems like a pretty good idea

True financial freedom isn't about the amount of money. Whatever money you have, you could lose it tomorrow (financial crash, theft, your country becomes a dictatorship, etc). As such, true financial freedom is about the skills and network you develop that enable you to make money and that you can use at any time once you have acquired them.

If Bill is looking for a young, handsome, and talented man as a husband my DMs are open.
Music suggestions for focus/deep work?
Anything instrumental works fine. Popular instrumental genres include lo-fi, jazz (especially smooth jazz, other subgenres like acid jazz can get hectic), classical music, hip-hop instrumentals, videogame music, and tech house.

My shortcut thought at the time was the she will get involved in a romance, judging by her behavior.
Splitting without an affair is actually more responsible way.

Not to spread rumors but he probably treated her as second mother rather than a wife.
So she really deserved any of two ways.

Different strokes for different folks :devil:

Delivering packages in a blacked out van to this would be great, blowing red lights and smashing into parked cars just for fun with a statue of satan on top of the car

What's stopping new competitors to existing tech companies?

I and many other people cannot stand the current options for social media and other services.

Sites like Twitter, Quora, and now even YouTube have just become awfully censored, full of wokeness, and in the case of some like Quora, overly restrictive. Ebay kind of sucks because of their managed payments they want you to do now; Amazon is Amazon (nuff said), and Google... Well, maybe DuckDuckGo will take off but Google is a lot more than Search.

Parler failed pretty terribly AFAIK. Alibaba needs a western-focused competitor (assuming any manufacturers can compete with dirt cheap prices in lower standard of living countries).

Are these monopolistic companies just too big to compete with? Or is nobody trying with an honest effort?

The list of bad companies making a killing is so damn long... Someone needs to shake it up.

I was part of a conference today that was being held virtually. Although I know they tried their best (I was part of the planning committee), it just seems bulky, inflexible, and difficult to use. WFH might be part of the 'new normal' but trade shows and conferences will go back in person with a roaring demand. There is nothing like meeting potential clients and buyers face to face and looking someone in the eye.

They're back already in Texas.

Huge turnout.

In fact, I need to go to more of them this month for my business but I keep having personal stuff get in the way on Saturdays etc. Very frustrating - need to hire a salesperson.

In Europe:

Amazon -------> Cdiscount (for french speakers, each country has its own amazon. Actually amazon got expensive, i now use google shopping and buy on the site cheaper than amazon. There are still many people that have never bought on amazon btw, we're still living in the middle age here. There is a huge market for drone delivery also)
Google -------> Qwant
Gmail -------> Protonmail
Youtube -------> Dailymotion, Contentos
Apple -------> Nokia (yes, they still exist, and they make good phones)
Whatsapp -------> Telegram

Facebook, IG, Reddit, TikTok, Snap don't really have any competitors. However, censorship in Europe isn't as bad as it is in the US cuz politicians don't like it when companies start censoring users. It was a big "WAKE UP" here when trump got censored.

For a while, I thought Epic Games was going to do something since they have a pretty cool store. But it's unlikely now.

As for Alibaba, actually, i wouldn't bet on the company. Tensions with China are getting worst everywhere, china itself is becoming expensive, everyone wants manufacturing to return home. I know a lot of factories are relocating to Ethiopia, for example, as well as India.

In the future, I think we should shift focus towards North Africa, Ukraine, and Turkey.

We have a couple of such sites like Alibaba, but nothing too big. Buying anything in Europe always requires days of search because companies aren't even bothered to go look for their customers lol it's a pain in the a$$. It was easier for me to find a sauna manufacturer in China than it was in Finland!!!!

Wow this is very informative.

I think a site like Alibaba but branded to be the "Made in America" site could do phenomenally well.

Lots of people in the USA, especially business owners who buy products B2B, want to buy things that are made in America and support American businesses.

FYI, if you can integrate the ideas of other people into a coherent whole, then you've created a very valuable resource.

Example: a website that organizes weightlifting, sleep, and nutrition advice from various experts who aren't associated with each other and charge a subscription for it.

Taking various open source (read free) software components and combining them into novel tools that solve important problems.

TLDR - You don't need to be that smart - if you can duct tape good ideas together, then you can make a lot of money.

Students? If you put an ad where business students hang out and offer minimum wage + "experience running a booth at a trade show" + "business secrets they don't teach you at school..." I'd sign up for that

Today I learned that you must always be producing in any area of your life.

Go for a run? Produce efforts.
Hang out with your friends? Produce entertainment by being fun and social.
Someone pays you for a job? Produce the desired result.
Someone is in need? Produce your help.
Everyone is new in the team? Produce a party to get people to know each other.
Sun is back? Produce a BBQ, the meat, and the music

Always be producing. Comes a time when you produce so much that people naturally rely on you, trust you, and start buying everything from you.

Uff, got my first bit of negative feedback from my work that I've had in a long time. A woman sent me an email telling me that a staff member had given her the wrong flavour and she'd only realised when she got home. Very small thing really, unless there are allergies involved, but it always feels like a dodged bullet when they tell you directly rather than plaster it online as a google review and it gives you a big chance to win a customer back.

As for the problem, easy fix really: make sure that the shop manager brings the new specials to the attention of the staff at the start of the shift.
