Hello Fastlaner,
as you can tell I'm new to this forum. I'd like to introduce myself to everybody taking time reading this.
My name is Mika, I'm a 21 year old german currently studying german studies and philosophy. After graduation I wanted to challenge myself and worked with disabled children for one year, after that I backpacked through asia for about 10 months and now - yeah I'm on the slowlane again. That needs to change. I need to change.
I promised myself to drop out of university and start travelling again by April 2021 and I'm stuck to this plan. Currently I'm getting healthy, focusing on good habits and earning money for my next big step. Beside this I plan to start a podcast by next month, want to build a blog and start making videos when I start travelling again.
You may have noticed that my english is not perfect - another thing I'm working on.

For now I'm happy to see my personal change and want to surround myself with likeminded people from across the world.

Stay healthy and stay home.
Thanks for everybody working in this time.

Mika

Good effort for planning and taking action.

What’s the need/market demand you are serving?

I hope you have carefully thought about that, and not just chosen one area to suit your lifestyle-traveling around the world.

Traveling the world is great, and so is starting a business.

However, other than saving up between now and then, how do you intend to fund your travels? A podcast and a travel blog/vlog have potential, but are unlikely to get into full swing under a year after launch. By full swing, I mean able to generate decent enough income to sustain you beyond a hostel bed, 1 banh mi, 1 bowl of pho and a bottle of Tiger beer per day.

So rather than only saving money for the next year, and waiting for when you begin traveling to create your blog and videos. How about you create them today, and start sharing videos or content from your previous 10 months in Asia? That will get things rolling, as far as search engine indexing, organic traffic, learning curve etc.

Whatever the case is, you should definitely make the move. Just make sure you're not doing it to try and escape the realities of life. As those realities will still be there when you return, just bigger and badder.

I've been traveling for almost 3 years now. I travel pretty slow (1-2 months) per country, as I prefer to rent an apartment in a country for that duration, and settle in like I actually live in that country. Much better for productivity and quality of life. I wouldn't trade my current lifestyle for another.

I'm sure you can find a way to make this work for you.
