When will his next book come out?

Sure, he deserves a break. But I am already looking forward to the next mind-expanding book of MJ DeMarco.

I have also watched an interview of him on YouTube.

No need for a third. The first two are okay for everyone who aspires for more than just living. Also remember MJ writes only when there is a genuine need for it and not to make money like the others are doing.

So if you like the books that much, then you should love following the advice that’s given in them :) that’s lifelong learning from him then.

The third book is Unscripted , Book 2...

A fictionalized story of a struggling entrepreneur...

It's a new genre I hope to help spawn, fictionalized non-fiction... think along the likes of The Phoenix Project (which is the only book I know of its type.)

If you want to read the first chapter of Unscripted Book 2, my third book, you already have it in Unscripted . It's the opening story in Chapter 1, but in book 2, the story continues... ;)

I guess I need to revise this...

The next book does indeed have a fictionalized story interwoven within its pages, but it still is mostly non-fiction.

If anyone wants updates on it, they can go here:

(The title and subtitle are still undecided)

I thought this was a joke at first till MJ dispelled that. I would say that MJ's first two books are or should be the in the top 5 if not the top 2 must read list of any aspiring entrepreneur. There are so many nuggets of gold and such a solid no BS explanation of the types of business to build and why as well as the types of "businesses" to never touch with a ten foot pole. I catch myself, and it's been years since I studied these books, quoting in my mind things like "barriers to entry, scale and control" etc. in sizing up possible business ideas all of which I learned from reading his books. Never mind the red pill, blue pill philosophy in Unscripted . Thank you for the first two and YES I would read a third for sure. Signed up for the updates as well @ New from MJ DeMarco, Unscripted®: The New 1% . All the best MJ.

Hi MJ,

I've read something similar, where entrepreneurship is (an important) part of the story. It'a a very entertaining and easy to follow "science-finctiony" story, called Re-start, and you can find it on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CKRMLJB/?tag=tff-amazonparser-20

Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed this specific book and would love to see what you, who are certainly a better writer, can achieve with this new genre ("real world fiction"?).

Needless to say, I'm not related in any way with the author or editor of the book.

All Eliyahu Goldratt books are novel type writings, he is a genius of the administration and I help many to grasp his concepts in an entertaining way.

Does it expand on your Unscripted book or is it completely a fresh one? What does it contain?

It contains 115 insights and tactics that will help the reader make the leap to a new economic class, the Unscripted 1%. Then it is wrapped up nice and tight in a fictional narrative (interwoven within the insights) as you watch one married couple (with a baby on the way) struggle to do it themselves. You'll hear their story as they fight to rid themselves of their meaningless jobs and fix their failures trying to "save our way to millions" all while trying to start a business that fits the CENTS principles.

Updates please!! I've never been a fan of reading until I picked up TMF to be honest, but your writing style is very personal and enjoyable. Cheers!

Sounds like what you're calling fictionalized non-fiction is a business fable?

Other books that are great business fables include:

1. Built to Sell
2. The Phoenix Project
3. Radical Focus
4. Leadership and Self Deception

Those books are all best sellers, so hopefully studying them helps make yours great. Or I may be misunderstanding what you're shooting for.

EDIT: Also found this list of top business fables: 7 Business Fables You Should Read

Not exactly, but close.

The book is still a work of non-fiction, but there is a complete fictional story woven in between the pages. The Phoenix Project is entirely fiction, a story. Which reminds me, I need to finish that book as I bought it some years ago and never finished it.

Eventually I'd like to do both though.

I thought this thread should have been shut down on arrival. In lieu of a book, how about Fastlane Applied or Open Source Unscripted , either way, it would be a project demonstrating the application of the Fastlane/Unscripted principle where MJ takes an idea and implements it in real life, documenting the decisions that were made to get an idea from concept to first 100 or 1000 paying customers. Preferably an online venture. Another sequel will dilute the brand! Just my $0.02

I suggest we just let MJ do what he wants and what he believes is the best for his own book series.

MJ, I remember when there was a short time we could pre-order the book for $90 on Viperion's online store. I refreshed the page and you marked it as sold out. It's been in the back of my head ever since the ephemere thread that emerged from that small event.

Now that we know a little bit more about it, I'm only more excited about the book.

MJ, I remember when there was a short time we could pre-order the book for $90 on Viperion's online store.

That actually was a subscription to a full overview of the writing process as it unfolded with the ability to provide reader feedback, a crowdsourcing/funding so-to-speak. Had I gone through with that, you would have received the book chapter by chapter, one every week or so. Ultimately I decided not to do that.

Makes me think of The E-Myth: Revisited.

I’m super excited about your new one, do Summit attendees get a sneak peek at the new material?;)

Any new updates on the new book?

Still working on it, it is the hardest project I've ever done in my life -- trying to entwine fiction with non-fiction.

Take your time, but hurry up!

Don't rush it out, if your book resume is any indicator of quality (I think Unscripted improved upon TMF alot) then this third book will be out of this world  All the best MJ!

Hey guys,
I’m chopping at the bit in anticipation of MJ’s new book and saw that he posted a link to a YT video that I’ve watched a heap of times saying that there was a link to an update to when the book might be released but I couldn’t see anything new. Does anyone know when it might be coming out
Thanks in advance.
Gabe.
