Hello Everyone,

I am new to the Fastlane Forum and I am very excited! I am currently a hairdresser and have been for 14 years. I am at the beginning of starting a business and am scared, excited and clueless (For now). I have a lot of research to do and I’m sure I will be asking you all a bunch of questions. Yes!! I just finished The Millionaire Fastlane , and it was great!! I am looking into building a website, any tips? Should I learn to do it myself or should I hire someone to do it?

Yes!! I just finished The Millionaire Fastlane , and it was great!! I am looking into building a website, any tips? Should I learn to do it myself or should I hire someone to do it?

I’d actually recommend making a site using JUST the Google My Business to start. That’s where all your reviews will be anyway. Also, if you post on it (even a picture or a tiny blog post about what hairstyles you love to offer or what you learned in school or what a client said about you) every day you’ll get better rankings.

Then I’d build out your Facebook page. Try to only get your friends in your city to comment, like, or follow. It skews the metrics if your aunt in Saskatchewan likes a post.. because your target market is in your city. Use funny stuff on your page, stuff that’s humorous gets more clicks. Start learning fb ads. You can play around with it and learn it for $5-10. You DONT want to spend too much until you really understand how to market to your niche AND track your ROI. It makes no sense to keep spending money if you’re a poor copywriter or you can’t convert.

Have you figured out which scheduler to use? I recommend PocketSuite. They’re insanely low priced and they do literally everything Vagaro does.

If you haven’t figured out your niche yet you need to do that. I’m assuming you’re phenomenal at your job and already very successful. You’ll be more than fine on your own. Really. Just talk to potential clients the same way you talk to the ones you have now. You know how to fill your book. Keep doing it.

Just remember, 20 ppl a day. That’s your target. You need to meet and talk to 20 ppl a day about what you do. I know that sounds like a ton of ppl but if you aim for the stars you’ll at least catch some moon dust.
