My unemployment ended so i've been applying to part time jobs and just got an email for a job i've never even known existed lol

i'm not 100% sure yet but i assume it's just bunch of people going in and counting the entire store stock.
Now that i know this exists, it makes perfect sense lol

I wonder how many obscure jobs are out there that most people have never heard of.

I'll probably apply to this, although the fluctuating hours worry me a little, and having to travel to all kinds of different places will be annoying, maybe.

Could be a scam. Why not post an ad on craigslist offering services. I am assuming you are a guy in fair shap and could so some manual labor. Offer to do people's yardwork, help them move, run errands, take them to and from doctor appointments or grocery store, among other things. Get creative. These services are in demand in most places. I've done it and people contacted me.

i dont wanna keep looking for odd jobs, i just wanna get something once and stick with it while concentrating on my fastlane.
Mindless part time work is all i want.
I really really doubt this is a scam. the company is on glassdoor and RGIS has official company site that you have to login to and all that stuff.
I got no scam vibes from this one. anyways my interview is next friday.

I do logistics for my day job and I can attest that an inventory specialist is a legitimate job title. Your assumption about the actual job duties is also probable. I would go in with an open mind, but just as anywhere, make sure you don't have any gut warnings.

That's a real job. I know someone who did that for years.

Yes, that job does exist. Before POS registers, it was a lot more common and done more often to keep manual tabs on the inventory. Now most retailers do it once or twice a year to find out the "shrinkage" -- the nice name for shop lifting, stealing and employee error. When I was very young and worked for a major department store in downtown Los Angeles, the store paid a church membership to come out do a lot of that work. That way, the money they paid was contribution to the church on behalf of their members.
Walmart used to have a whole crew of people from their headquarters that traveled all over the US setting up new stores. (I was once married to man whose little elderly aunt was part of that traveling crew.)
There are a lot of jobs out there that aren't generally known in the mainstream.
Have a open mind and find a way to use the traveling to your advantage. I used to know an airline crew member who traveled to S. American regularly. She set up an import business for hand crafted baskets that she brought home or shipped home from her trips. There's a lot of ways to make and use business contacts.

I also applied to UPS, they hiring part time packers in their manhattan facility for the holiday season, but maybe if i work good they won't let me go when it's over. That'd be the perfect labor work for me, get a good sweat a few hours a day and work on my fastlane at home, wat more could anybody ask for?

Okay I actually looked this up. The rarest job in america is a personal chef, I believe theres around 100-200, in the entirety of America. So... theres your random fact for the day.

Also "Inventory Specialist"? Sorry but this is a fancy name for stacking shelves.
