I've been thinking for the past few days:
Think about it: there is not a single job description in the world that would hurt more people as much as a mediaperson does. Every job - programmers, accountants, doctors, everyone from shop floor person to executive delivers some positive in the world. A mediaperson's responsibility is to distract and suffocate you from the inside.
If an elite solider kills maybe 5 people throughout his lifespan - bad or good people - a mediaperson would disarm thousands of viewers.
I'm talking about political news kind of media.
better to read scientific papers and discover new branches of science. Being able to do something other can't - think bioengineering or machine learning is always more profitable.

Edit: also, occupying your head with politics is no smarter occupying it with what size is the a$$ of Kardashians or who fell in love with whom.
