I realize hard news is NOT discussed much here on Fastlane, but sometimes I find it difficult to swallow the worsening coddling of Americas' youth.
Our culture is telling young people that they are spectacular. They're deservant of everything by simply existing. They're special. They're rockstars. And with YouTube and social media, they can cast themselves as such. Finish in last place? No problem. Here's a participation trophy. Hard work, productivity, and contribution is no longer required. Simply exist and you are a GOD. This attitude, driven by parents, media, culture, and education, continues for years... until ... real life strikes. And then, these coddled kids, now adults, don't know what the f*ck hits them.
We find this here a lot of Fastlane, as I tried to demonstrate in my Roses and Raging river parable. Life isn't going to GIVE you roses. You have to EARN them.

Here's the disturbing video of this self-entitled brat, delivered from his shiny new BMW.
Sadly, he went through with his manifesto and shot 7 people. Its a shame that 7 innocents had to die because this kid couldn't get what he felt he deserved.
