Hello Fastlaners,
First a quick introduction: I'm Syed Sameer, a 21 year old Entrepreneur who has been in the web design & development business since 9 years. I've been recognized for my web-design skills and work in numerous design galleries and publications around the internet. I have been making around $30,000 per year in this business, and I also sell websites at Flippa.com from time to time.
So far I have been working mostly with internet clients or local clients from my small town, known as Aligarh (it is a really rural place, think 1900s industrial city) - I am now saving around $40,000 so that I can move to a much bigger city called New Delhi, the capital of India, by 10 February 2014.
I plan to setup a 1000 sq ft office in New Delhi, get the business registered, and initially hire a sales person to go out there and get us some clients. I plan to get 10 clients on-board during our first year of operation, earning approximately $30,000 ($3,000 per client) and an extra $10,000 per year in recurring income via SEO plans per client per year. New Delhi has a lot of business for me, it is an emerging business city and I see a lot of opportunities: Hospitals, Schools, Colleges, Real Estate Developers, Building Hardware, Small scale manufacturers (by the thousands), Consultancy firms etc.
Once we're in our 2nd year of business I plan to expand and hire an iPhone app development team to release our own game titles for the iOS and Android market. I am also going to have a small content team working on a network of sites in the very popular cricket and bollywood niches of the Indian internet. I'll also leverage my staff for the side Flippa.com site selling business - I will automate the whole process to a very good extent.
Also note that once I setup my office my only work will be management and delegation. I will be outsourcing all of the design / development work to trusted people whom I've been working with over the years. Might hire a designer / coder team later on once the business proves itself.
I will also expand the business to other cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore by the 3rd year and also setup an international outsourcing arm.
I want your opinion about this business, about this plan, and if you think it is fastlane or not. I think it can be fastlane provided that I reach that iPhone game development goal soon - using the web-design business as a launchpad for my entry to the fastlane.
