I am not returning to this forum with full vengeance. I'm writing my novel still.
Anyways, has anyone ever look into becoming a police? I think it's a decent career for the retirement benefits and all the insurance it comes with, at least in my home state MI. In my state, you could retire after 25 years to get the full pension. Or deferred retirement, get a percentage of it, work ten years then retire by age 50. I know this is not fastlane, but it's better than slaving away after age 50 I think. 46 if you start at 21. Plus, I think it sounds like a fun way to spend 25 years of your life.
I'm at a point where that's probably going to be my back up plan, if my novel(s) and my other ideas/careers doesn't give me early retirement. Something to keep me away from being on the streets at an old age and relying on strangers. I'm enrolling for it next semester, to get into the police academy you need so many credits. I wish I started this path a little earlier, but in the big schemes of things, it doesn't matter since this is just a back up.
I just thought some people might like to know about that career.
