Hi everyone,
I’m 17 and in my last year of high school, Lately I’ve been debating whether or not to go to university, Honestly I really dislike the school environment, most of the subjects including business courses like economics feel like useless theory to me, I’d rather learn by doing in the real world,
An alternative I’ve been considering is becoming a real estate agent, My thought is that if I get licensed, work hard, and keep learning, I could have years of real world experience by the time others are finishing their degrees, I already enjoy business and entrepreneurship, and right now I run a dog walking business that consistently does around 2k (CAD) per month while being full time in school with my best month being 3.3k (CAD), I’m also moving into interior car detailing since it’s more scalable and higher ticket and have already done a few jobs, One of my old dog walking clients is a real estate agent and she’s been giving me pointers as well,
My biggest worry about skipping university is missing out on the network it provides, If I go the real estate route I know I’d have to be very intentional about building my own network and I’m not sure how hard that would be starting out,
Overall I’m pretty stressed about this decision and would love some advice from those who’ve been in similar situations,
