would you say that if you don't treat your business like it's your job, you are going to fail?
Ahh, jobs… being forced to do things you don’t like serving people you don’t like with people you don’t like at times you don’t like for a salary you don’t like?

What’s not to like?

You know those businesses that have 12 month contracts that auto renew if you don't catch them on the exact right day of the year to cancel?

Don't be a piece of shit business like that. Forcing someone to continue paying something that they no longer want is a garbage business model.

I hate those so much. Be really careful letting your employees have decision-making power on stuff like that too. We got entered into something like that because an employee thought it was a good deal... smh

Important employee, needs *quite a bit of* decision making abilities, but very frustrating

Truth brother. I hate this so much. I buy a lot of subscription based stuff and can’t stand it when I get a notification “your payment has been processed for another year”. I mean, it’s typically fine and I’ll buy anyway, just feels like I have no say in it. That’s the part I hate.

Yep! Agency law can become pretty ugly stuff. Careful who you delegate contract signing abilities to because you're on the hook for them.

I know TWO people who lost multi-million dollar businesses to bad contracts. And another that lost a few million in personal wealth, again to dumb contracts.

My advice is to write very simple contracts yourself. They will be inoffensive to others, and protects you from their verbiage.

Companies that do this do it because they know their products are shit and locking customers into long term plans is the only way to reduce churn. Example: Those dickheads at Salesforce

this one was only a couple thousand per year, we will be able to get out of it by paying about the same, but still painful and annoying. Actually the employee didn't sign, they do not have that power. But they explained it all to the boss who then signed... Neither read the abnormally long terms and conditions. This company is a rarity because it is for PHONE RECORDINGS of all things. Never sign up for PHMG. Go read their Wikipedia page.

No, we read every important contract in great detail - you know, with big industry customers. This one was just... weird. Normally you don't get on a multi-thousand dollar subscription to have a simple recording. Very, very odd... Reasons why this company has a lot of hate online.

Man, the freaking postal service. Does anyone else have a license to be as crappy as they are without recourse? Oh yea, government!!

I order a few graphics cards to mine on to replace older ones, and they showed up today. My wife was home the whole day with the kids, and I specifically said the doorbell will ring with these. Well it did ring, for an Amazon package. Did it ring for my Canada Post items? Nope. The clown shoe just dropped a couple of postal slips at the door that said "now you get to waste your time tomorrow driving to the depot and hoping that we sorted your stuff enough for you to get it".

And more details on my meeting to follow another day! It is really cool. Like I stumbled upon an entire cool business world that I never knew existed but it's the ultimate fit.

i believe in being excellent. Not just good. Not being ok, but excellent at what you do. To get there you should have a big WHY. Having a strong “why” gets you through the hard days, months and years. And then you start loving what you do. Only when you are excellent that you can experience joy of being seen as someone performing miracles.

Don’t settle for “good”, aim bigger, become exceptional in whatever it is you do.

Per the “manufacturing back to murica” arguments… It’s not a bad thing to be too rich to want to pull a lever in a generic widget factory all day.

"Achievers operate differently. They have an eye for the essential. They pause just long enough to decide what matters and then allow what matters to drive their day. Achievers do sooner what others plan to do later and defer, perhaps indefinitely, what others do sooner. The difference isn’t in intent, but in right of way. Achievers always work from a clear sense of priority." (Gary Keller, Jay Papasan, The ONE Thing)

Somebody tried a hyperbaric chamber ? Seriously thinking of buying one, for personal/family use and even as a business. Local quotes go for $20 for a 60/90min sesion. 6 sesions are a common treatment. Got quoted $31000 to buy the machine from a local manufacturer, (though on Alibaba it was like 4K/10K/30K, depends on the quality). Also a plus that a machine with actual value and utility is great to beat inflation.
Do I care to give up this business idea in a public forum ? No, please copy me, I think you would add a ton of value for the health of many people. Well, I will def will be triying. Maybe go for the midle range pricing until I know more about the machine and get experienced with it. Oh, and Thanks for reading my rant.

I’m homeschooling my kid. Not in some apologetic way where I get them “into groups” to “socialize him.”

No. F*ck other people’s commie kids. F*ck their influence on my kid. F*ck the blind leading the blind.

I don’t need some blue haired F*ckface teaching my kid about why his businessman daddy is evil and how one day he might be able to grow up and get pregnant and live off of universal basic income. I don’t need PTA meeting arguments. I don’t need school board meeting throwdowns. I don’t need to try to get teachers fired. I fire them all before we even start. We will homeschool from day one.

He is the the responsibility of myself and my wife. It is our responsibility to raise him. It’s our responsibility to craft him into a productive and intelligent adult. If he doesn’t “fit in” with retarded commie kids, that’s because he will be smarter. If he doesn’t fit in with commie adults later in life, that’s fine too.

I wish there was someplace to go. I strongly believe that true entrepreneurs always find a way. I just don’t have the answer right now, and it pisses me off.
Hi Kak. I follow this dude. He has absolutely the same viewpoints as you in regards to his kids. He often talks about his virtual expat school for kids that he started due to the fact that he also don't want his kid to turn into a blue-haired, pregnant woked commie. Maybe it could be useful for you: Home

This means that I also never kill spiders at home or any other insects. In fact, I have some bees living on my balcony now and I'm happy to provide them with a shelter. Yep, I'm this guy who literally wouldn't even hurt a fly. It actually disturbs me a lot when people kill insects without any thought just because they're around.
I totally know this feeling. I still have bad conscience about a huge spider I killed in Sweden 3 years ago because my wife woke up screaming in the night and my insticts just made me stomp that poor fella. Since then I cannot harm any living soul. Though I haven't met Klaus Schwab or Justin Castro yet, so that might change. But they probably don't have souls anyway?

Were sitting with some friends from Texas here in Portugal a couple of weekends ago at a beach bar. One of them had a spider crawling on him and my wife told him that. He just tooked it and killed it with a napkin. Felt so bad for that thing. Now my wife still feels bad for telling that to him. RIP spider.

I used to work for a company that did this when I was younger. In customer service.

One time we were switching payment providers, so there was like 3 months without any auto renewals being made. As soon as the new payment system was implemented our CEO thought it would be a great idea to auto renew all the failed payments from the last 3 months AT ONCE.

I think you can imagine how awesome it was to work in customer service at that right moment!

It's like a tweet I saw today about the shooting in Tulsa where some lady was raging about the shooting happening on an anniversary of some massacre in Tulsa a decade or so ago.

She was absolutely furious and claimed that WHITE supremacy was to blame for the killing. But in reality the killer happened to be black dude.

The world has gone mad.

Last rant of the day. Went to the mall and Ikea to get some things today here in Portugal. No Covid restrictions. Yet almost 50 % of people were wearing masks. I love this country, but this mass psychosis scares me. I bet Justin Castro would love himself some Portuguese complient residents.

Yes, it is an alarming problem - not so much because people are wearing them to feel safe - which is perfectly fine, but because many of these people also deeply feel that you should be wearing one too, and will go so far as to say so when you're enclosed and out-numbered.

My fear is If Monkey-Pox gets significant Media coverage we'll again see the social shaming tactics back in full force - irrespective of whatever the true facts will be.
