I am writing this just to let ya'll know that i may not be contributing/commenting much over the next few days (perhaps 10-30 days) as i just got out surgery and have no use of my one of my arms n fingers - typing is something of a cumbersome process so i don't expect to be writing much ... i will b here however doing a lot of reading hope to b back in the swing of things soon.

I haven't abandoned the forum!

I will be here!

I used dragon before at work, it really works like a charm after you "train" the software a bit, and get a hang of pronouncing punctuations, etc. The results will vary greatly depending of the quality of the mic used, so if you use a quality headset, you'll much better recognition results, than using the built-in mic. There is a hardware compatibility list from their site.

FYI, as of today, there is a current sale right now (I'm not affiliated in any way).

Wish you a speedy recovery. Don't sit at the desk for too long...clots can be an issue after major surgery, which im sure your aware of. I am not an MD nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

There is some pretty good voice transcription built in to iPhone / iPad, not as robust as Dragon, but if you combine with Siri, it can get the job done.

I use the voice thing on my smart phone sometimes and it usually does a good job! oh and when it doesnt, you will be sure to have a very good laugh! You should try it out just for the entertainment value!
