Hey guys,

I progressed through college with the goal of getting my degree, graduating, and to find a safe, secure, nice paying job in IT. I had the mindset of an employee all throughout college. At the end of my senior year, what I did not know is that a friend of mine was going to lend me a book that would knock me off my feet.

That book of course was RK's Rich Dad Poor Dad (surprise surprise, right?). I read nearly all of his series and have continued reading about real estate and business ownership.

Today I am an employee at a real estate office, working IT, waiting for paychecks (I'm writing this at work as we speak). I cannot express the eagerness I have to leave the employee world. Every hour of every day I am constantly thinking of how I can afford to start up a business or start owning property. Its like I have entrepreneur OCD. I don't get much sleep either because I lay at night with business ideas pounding my brain.

So here I am, a member of the fast lane. I know this will be a great tool for success and I know that in my future I will be successful, no question.

I wish ALL OF YOU the very best.

-Tony

:Welcome:

I speak for myself and many other 20-somethings on this board that you came to the right place and yes I too am typing this at work, while I do love my job I also need to keep my entrepreneurial mindset sharp and active while I'm here as the end goal is to achieve financial freedom by age 30, which won't happen working for someone else :smxB:

Same exact story as me, my man! Can you believe that when I was a junior in college I actually told someone, "Yea, if I can find a good job with a good company who treats me well...I wouldn't mind working there until I retire at 65."

Gross...but senior year, an ex-gf of mine lent me a book that her dad lives by (RDPD). Changed my life...literally.

Great to see another young'un on here. Enjoy it, soak it up, use it. Best resource that I have ever found. Another thing, don't EVER be afraid to post. These guys will answer any question...no matter if it seems stupid and trivial or not.

Best of luck!

Best,
Josh

Welcome to the board Tony, and congrats on "figuring out" one of the Fastlane paths so early in life. Better now than when you are 55.

I was very fortune to have read RDPD at age 14! It really did change my life too. It's more of a "what you can do" book, whereas this forum is the "how to."

rep+ and this is exactly why I can't wait for MJ to finish his book!!!!

the connection is that RDPD gets you the motivation, much like some of the suggested Tony Robbins material("Awaken the Giant Within" and "Giant Steps"), but it still doesn't show you how, that's why I'd suggest "The Four Hour Work Week" by Timothy Ferriss where he actually lists URL's for places to get provisional patents, virtual assistants and drop-shipping agreements, pretty much fills in the blanks for most of the steps that your average thinker says "I could never DO this or that and thus will never start a business." :coolgleamA:

With that in mind something you'll hear a lot on here is "thinkers" vs. "do-ers", the success stories are the "do-ers" and the young'ns like us are the "thinkers" that will only achieve the level of success we strive for by becoming a "do-er"! :smxB:

Welcome Tony! As a fellow young 20-something, you'll love this place. I was just like you, sitting through college classes thinking I wanted to be a journalist or something until I came across some books (RDPD being the first).
Soak up the information here because its a tremendous asset to have at our age.

I love that part because its what I tell myself.
I got my first "money" mindset from watching movies like goodfellas, Casino, Scarface etc. haha.
Yeah you will find this site useful and I wish you great success.
