Hello everyone. I just joined this community today. I had already read TFM couple of months ago, so I guess I'm a little behind. Well, at least I joined now.
So I'm at a point in my career where I need to make a big decision. Although I have my mind probably about 50% set, I still want to know what you guys think here.
My Story:
I'm 30 years old, been working as a mechanical engineer for 6 years, and just got my PE License. I've been working as a government contractor for the past three years and my current contract is expiring next week. I have received a nice offer from another contractor (20% increase in pay).
The problem is, I absolutely HATE my day job. I've worked my first three years of my career at another place and hated it there too. The people here don't know how much I hate being here. I think I do a good job acting and BS'ing.
My Business:
Couple months ago I started a small little business of mine. I've always had a little bit of artistic talent since I was little so I decided to design and sell cell phone cases.
I started with a little test. I designed this case, ordered 300 of them through a Chinese factory I found on Alibaba, and started selling on Amazon and Ebay. Here's the Amazon link:

I spent a couple months testing. At first, I was selling one case every two weeks. Then, one every couple of days. Now, almost one a day. So I figured this might actually work.
So a couple of weeks ago, I decided to take out a $4200 loan from my stock trading account and mass produce a couple more designs and for a couple more phones. I spent hours Photoshopping a couple of more drawings and had them sent to the Chinese factory that I found through Alibaba.
My Dilemma:
So right now, with my current position expiring in a week, I am waiting for my 4,500 cell phone cases to be produced and shipped to me all the way from China. They should be arriving somewhere around the first week of November. I still need to create a website (which I already know how to).
Here's my dilemma. I need your opinions. Your opinions may or may not affect mine. But still, I want to hear them. Deep down inside me, there's something telling me not to accept the new job offer. I know I will hate the job. But at the same time, I have rent and bills to pay every month. I would like to focus on this small little business of mine, but it won't pay off the immediate bills.
Do I take the job offer?
