What would you do with free barns?

So I grew up on a small pig farm in western Minnesota and my dad is a grain farmer. He has since gotten out of the pig business and has had 3 large barns completely empty for the past five years. These barns are thermostatically controlled and have slatted floors and feeders and would be a potentially turn-key operation to raise many different types of animals, or they could be potentially turned into storage areas. My dad would rent these barns to me free or for very cheap.

Just curious to hear a few ideas on what you would do in this particular situation.

I'd guess it depends on your area, but what I've seen been done before;

Divide up into smaller units and rent to local Small business
General self storage
Specialised self storage ( luxury/ sports car storage/ boats etc)
Wedding venue hire

All depends how much you can spend to convert, how involved you want to be, what your local area needs, planning permission for business use etc

If the barns are aged and you are looking for money, repurposed wood is in high demand. Old, faded wood it made into tables and all sorts of stuff that go for insane amounts of cash!
