Back in February I was trying to start an e-business in order to make some money. I bought the domain name RanSam.com which is basically just a combination of my last name with my partner's (my cousin) last name.

My idea was to start an affiliate site because it seemed somewhat passive and could generate a large amount of income. I also worked hard on finding a niche. My cousin was supposed to do the technical stuff for the web site because I don't know anything about HTML or web design.

Since then my cousin has backed out because he has a girl friend and what not so he can't waste his time. I installed Joomla and tried to do things myself but I ran across all sorts of problems trying to do things so I gave up.

I know persistence is key to succeeding, but without technical knowledge I couldn't really go anywhere with the site. I've recently joined my local real estate club, trying to become a bird dog and I'm reading a boat load of real estate books. I like REI but I still have this domain and I'd like to do something with it.

I'm trying to save all my money for the purchase of my first property when I turn 18, so I don't really want to risk any money on paying a web designer to build something that doesn't profit. Surprisingly I've gotten 2,075 Unique Visits since I bought the domain name in February and I haven't paid a cent in marketing.

Should I sell the domain for as much as I can get? Or should I try to launch an e-business without risking any of my REI money?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!!
