I have an idea for a social networking website designed to connect people to employers in the programming industry (it is a lot like LinkedIn but more specialised). I want it to be a social media platform because I want anyone to be able to create profiles and upload media.
The problem is, I can't see a clear way that the idea can generate money besides adverts. I recall MJ's commandments and feel like they are being met sufficiently and the law of affection is certainly there. I particularly recall the commandment of NEED, to chase needs that need to be addressed rather than money, and I firmly believe there is a need for this idea.
My thoughts are that if I pursue this idea and focus on good execution to attract some users, the opportunities to make money will reveal themselves. Is this a pipe dream? Too Naive?
Have any of you had similar predicaments? What did you do?
