I think it's pretty well known that coding is the "go-to" when it comes to the skill to learn through udemy and to start something on the side. I'm curious what are some of your favorite lesser known ones? There are entire subreddits dedicated to learning web design and plenty of people doing well on here, so I feel like that talent pool is exponentially expanding.

but what does it mean? It's a very vague phrase. It could be seo, fb ads, google ads, marketing itself as in mindset, copywriting, brading etc... where would you go to learn those skills from a PROVEN sources? (not some random YT guys or blogs or fb groups)

I'll pitch in @GradyS

1: Clear Thinking & Decision Making. I've read a lot of Farnham Street to develop this lately.

2: Other than that, Leadership. @Kak harps on this a lot.

With a skill stack like this, #1 will help you spot the right opportunities / call the right shots, and #2 will help you muster support for your cause. AND It's largely industry agnostic — I can't see how anyone with these skills won't be able to succeed, regardless of the business.

Any of the above are pretty good specialised skills. You can use them to get a job, freelance work, and/or build your business.

Pick up enough knowledge to get started, learn by doing, focus on solving the problems in front of you. It won’t take long before you’ll recognise who knows what they’re talking about.

Consulting in:
- Risk Management
- Compliance Management (General or specialised eg PCI DSS)
- Privacy
- Cybersecurity

The demand for expertise in these niches is insane and growing every day. The barrier to entry here is that you really need a job in these fields to get the knowledge required to go out on your own.

In terms of entire subreddits supposedly being full of "competition" for web dev, 99% are either employees or action-faking neckbeards who will study forever out of fear of actually contacting their first customer. Still plenty of room to carve out a place for yourself.
